Have you heard of Samuel Morris?

A Liberian pastor here in Sierra Leone asked me today if I'd heard of Samuel Morris. Without speaking I got up and shook the man's hand. He made my day. You see, I was privileged to live in a dorm at Taylor University named after Sammy … two, in fact. There have been three dorms named after Sammy Morris. I lived in the second and third renditions of the dorm. Taylor is currently on the third rendition, but I'm sure that the fourth is in the planning stages. You can never be too prepared, and a TU without a Samuel Morris dorm is no TU at all.

Yay for Sammy! :) How fantastic you were able to make that connection.

I’ve so enjoyed reading your updates. I’m happy to hear that you’re at peace and growing more accustomed to your daily life. I will keep you in my prayers.

Also, happy St. Patrick’s Day to you! I wish I could say I’d have a Guinness for you, but I just wouldn’t be able to follow through on that (ick), even for you!

Keep buckling your seatbelt like your Mom said!

Awesome! I had to go to the link and read some of what is on Taylor’s website.
Sammy’s quote, “Living a religious life is like eating meat. Some parts of the meat are lean and you like them very much. Some parts are fat and you do not like at all. But you must eat both lean and fat to be healthy and strong. So religion has its joys and crosses; you love joys but you draw back from crosses. However, you must take both of them to become strong, healthy Christian.”

    Good stuff!
